A QR code itself never expires. When a printed code suddenly stops working, it's almost always something between the code and your page.
Make a QR code that keeps working
The usual reason: a trial or a subscription ended
Many QR generators create "dynamic" codes that point to their own servers instead of to your page. That's what lets you edit them later. The catch: when the free trial ends or a monthly payment fails, they deactivate the code or send your visitors to an ad or a payment page.
The printed code is fine. The service behind it switched it off.
Other reasons
- The page it points to moved or no longer exists.
- The print is damaged, too small, or has low contrast (light dots on a dark background often fail).
- A big logo covers too much of the code.
How to check which one it is
Scan the code with your phone's camera and look at the address it shows before opening it. If it's the generator's domain, your code depends on that company. If it's your own website, the problem is the page or the print.
